How we compute it
Formula
TVL = the vault’s account value
PnL (7d, 30d, all-time) = the vault’s result in the window, without deposits and withdrawals- The public vault list is read once a day: TVL, APR, PnL over 7 days, 30 days and all time, leader and age are copied unchanged from Hyperliquid.
- Followers and leader commission are read for the 150 largest open vaults from $10,000 TVL, about once a day; Hyperliquid lists at most 100 followers per vault.
- Listed by default: open vaults from $10,000 TVL; HLP’s own strategy vaults are left out because they are part of HLP. A daily history of TVL, APR and PnL is kept from the first read on.
How to read it
- Compare PnL with TVL and age: a large APR on a small or very new vault rests on little history.
- Followers and commission show how many depositors share the result and what the leader takes.
Common mistakes
- Ranking vaults by APR alone. A high APR on a small or new vault can come from a few lucky days; TVL and age are next to it for that reason.
Honest limits
- APR and PnL are Hyperliquid’s own figures; the method behind APR is Hyperliquid’s.
- Once a day: a vault that lost money this morning still shows yesterday’s numbers until the next read.
Questions and answers
Are vaults counted as traders on Blockmetric?
No. Vaults (HLP included) are pooled money of many depositors. They have their own ranking under Whales › Traders › Vaults and are left out of the trader leaderboard and smart money.
