Wallet cohorts

Cohorts split the tracked wallets into groups (by account value, from shrimp below $10k up to whales of $10M and more, or by all-time PnL, from top earners to rekt) and show how each group is positioned per coin.

Definition

Cohorts split the tracked wallets into groups (by account value, from shrimp below $10k up to whales of $10M and more, or by all-time PnL, from top earners to rekt) and show how each group is positioned per coin.

In one sentence: A group of wallets sorted by account size (shrimp … whale) or by all-time profit (top earners … rekt), so you can see how each group is positioned.

How we compute it

Formula

long share (cohort, coin) = long USD ÷ (long USD + short USD) of the cohort’s positions in the coin
  • Size cohorts: shrimp < $10k, fish $10k–100k, dolphin $100k–1M, shark $1M–10M, whale ≥ $10M. Profit cohorts: top ≥ +$1M, profitable, flat (±$50k), losing, rekt ≤ −$1M.
  • Snapshots every 5 minutes for the top 25 coins plus all coins together; the trend compares the long share with 15 minutes to 7 days ago.

How to read it

  • Look at the long share and its change, together with the number of wallets behind it.
  • Cohorts can disagree: whales short while shrimp are long is a factual divergence, not a forecast.

Common mistakes

  • Reading the shrimp cohort as all small traders. Small wallets are tracked far less completely than large ones; the wallet count next to each row shows how many are behind it.

Honest limits

  • Coverage is the wallets the collector polls. Large wallets are covered far better than small ones (wallet counts are shown).
