How we compute it

Formula

drawdown event = HLP cumulative PnL ≥ 2 % of account value and ≥ $3M below its 24-hour high
net position in a coin = Σ positions of HLP’s child vaults
  • Every 15 minutes the collector reads vaultDetails of HLP and the positions (clearinghouseState) of its child vaults: account value, PnL over day, week, month and all time, APR.
  • The PnL history is the vault’s own (deposits and withdrawals do not move it). A security event fires when the cumulative PnL drops 2 % of the account value and $3M or more below its 24-hour high.
  • HLP and its child vaults are left out of the trader leaderboard and smart money: they are pooled money, not one trader.

How to read it

  • A falling PnL line while the market moves fast shows HLP taking the other side of liquidations or trades at a loss.
  • Account value moves with deposits and withdrawals; PnL does not.

Common mistakes

  • Reading a drop in account value as a loss. Withdrawals lower the account value too; the PnL line shows the result of trading.

Honest limits

  • Values are as Hyperliquid reports them in vaultDetails; the collector does not recompute them.
  • Between two reads (15 minutes) a fast move is not seen.

Questions and answers

Why is HLP not on the trader leaderboard?

HLP is a vault with money from many depositors, and its child vaults belong to it. The leaderboard and smart money list single trading accounts only.
