Hyperliquid positions: age per polling tier
Positions are not streamed. We read each tracked wallet in turn from the public Hyperliquid API, within its rate limit: the larger the wallet, the more often. The age of a position is the time since its wallet was last read, so a wallet in a lower tier can show a position that is hours old.
| Tier | Wallets in it | With positions | Read | Median age | 95% younger than |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | $10M or more | 225 | every 2.5 min | 2 min | 2 min |
| Tier 2 | $1M or more | 1,137 | every 10 min | 7 min | 10 min |
| Tier 3 | $100k or more | 4,894 | every 1 h | 35 min | 63 min |
| Tier 4 | under $100k | 9,784 | every 4 h | 2 h | 4.2 h |
The tier comes from the account value or the position size, whichever is larger. "Read" is the target interval; when the API budget runs short every tier stretches by the same share, nothing is skipped. Wallets without an open position are read less often (tier 3 every 6 h, tier 4 every 2 days), and a trade of $10K or more on the live trade stream has the wallet read at once. Wallets you guard in Liquidation Guard are read every 45 s.

The heatmap shows only tracked positions, so its levels are a measured lower bound. New wallets are found through large trades, the leaderboard and the daily snapshot of every open position. How the heatmap is built: heatmap method.

A column adds up the liquidation prices of the tracked positions at the time it is stored, so it is as fresh as the positions in it (table above).
Markets, funding and open interest
| Exchange | Markets | Newest | Median age |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hyperliquid | 347 | 29 s | 29 s |
| Lighter | 218 | 26 s | 26 s |
| Binance | 409 | 48 s | 48 s |
| Bybit | 417 | 17 s | 17 s |
Price, funding and open interest of every market, sampled from each exchange's public API. A market that stopped trading keeps its last row, which raises the median.
Liquidation streams
| Exchange | Newest liquidation | Collector confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Hyperliquid | 3.1 h ago | 29 s ago |
| Lighter | 5 min ago | 26 s ago |
| Binance | 9 s ago | 26 s ago |
| Bybit | 29 s ago | 26 s ago |
"Newest liquidation" is the last one stored: in a quiet market minutes can pass without one. "Collector confirmed" is the last time the part that listens to the exchange reported in, so a large first number with a small second one means a quiet market, not a gap.
